About Me
I'm an award-winning project management professional, published author, and playwright.
As a wife and full-time working mother, I also bring more than 15 years of experience to the table as a project manager, handling the most challenging and complex of parental/household projects and successfully transforming those moments of common chaos into stress-free, productive, and organized calm.
As a senior-level program/project manager holding PMP and CSM certifications, I have generated bottom-line results for iconic global brands such as Adobe, Guitar Center, Patagonia, Harbor Freight Tools, and United Online/NetZero. I've led multi-million-dollar enterprise resource management and eCommerce projects, established and ran PMOs, and increased organizational maturity through the creation of project management processes, standards, and templates.
Prior to working client-side, I worked at imagistic, where I managed literally hundreds of projects for high-profile clients, including Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, ACLU, Walden Media, California Pizza Kitchen, and Bubba Gump Shrimp. Several of my projects won industry awards, including the Interactive Media Award, Web Marketing Association, and American Business Award. Two awards recognized my contributions as a copywriter as well.
As a professional copywriter, I also created messaging for eToys as a customer communications specialist and served for five years as an agency-side senior copywriter, generating direct and integrated marketing copy for NASA, Avaya, Network Solutions, and Verisign.
While pursuing my passion for personal creative writing, I authored four screenplays, two children’s books, and ten plays. My plays have been read and produced at Above the Curve Theatre’s Annual One-Act Festival, Live@ the Libe One-Act Festival, Tres Stage’s Writer Speaks Program, and the Magdalene Center, as well as made semi-finals in PianoFight’s ShortLived Competition. I won first prize at the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights Monologue Slam, and one of my full-length plays placed 15th in top 100 best stage plays at the 79th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition. I also wrote and directed two plays for the Moorpark College Original 1-Acts series, and have had two of my plays published through JAC Publications.
As a featured columnist, I've appeared in such publications as Pregnancy Magazine, Westlake Magazine, the Ventura County Star newspaper, and the “Hungry? The Lowdown on Where the Real People Eat” series of books.
In my other creative pursuits, I served as Tech Editor for two best-selling books on Amazon: "XML: Visual QuickStart Guide (2nd Edition),” authored by Kevin Howard Goldberg, and “Agile Scrum: Your Quick Start Guide with Step-by-Step Instructions,” written by Scott M. Graffius.
On the advocacy side, I've written grants for First 5 LA and the Ojai Raptor Center, and was a two-time panelist on the Employee Community Grant Fund Panel for Adobe. For the past four years, I have assisted the ASPCA on their Horse Action Team/Advocacy Brigade, and joined their Legislative Engagement team to write communications to government officials, as well as pen letters to the editor.
More recently, my self-published book, "From Homework HELL to Help! A Parent's Guide to Helping Kids Save Time and Stress Less Using Project Management Techniques" won the Solo Medal in the Parenting Category in the 2018 New Apple Book Awards for Excellence in Independent Publishing.
